We were pleased and proud to host the regional finals of the European Youth Parliament this week, welcoming eight schools from across the region for a day of lively debate and discussion. Students tackled a range of challenging and topical issues, including the role of artificial intelligence in education, toxic masculinity, childhood hunger, asylum applications, and rising geopolitical tensions.
With the Sir Thomas Rich's Debate Society continuing to grow, two teams represented the School in this year’s competition, demonstrating the strength and enthusiasm of our student debaters. The event was further enriched by a visit from Alex McIntyre, MP for Gloucester, who joined discussions with students about the key issues affecting young people locally and nationally. He was accompanied by his Parliamentary Assistant, Old Richian Joshua Littler-Jennings.
