Investing in our facilities and creating a better environment for future generations

At Sir Thomas Rich’s School, we are committed to continually improving our facilities, creating an inspiring learning environment whilst investing in the long-term sustainability of our school.

Thanks to the generosity of our school community and supporters of The 1666 Fund, we have already made significant improvements to our site, including the recent installation of solar panels and the successful refurbishment of Science Lab 7.

The installation of solar panels represents an important step towards reducing our environmental impact, generating renewable energy on site and helping to manage rising energy costs. This investment will deliver benefits for years to come, allowing more of our resources to be directed towards pupils and their education.

The refurbishment of Lab 7 has transformed an ageing teaching space into a modern, practical learning environment, providing pupils with improved facilities to support their scientific studies.

These projects demonstrate the tangible difference that additional investment can make to our school and the experiences of our pupils.

Our Next Priorities

  • Building on this progress, we are now fundraising through the 1666 Fund to support further improvements to our school site, including:
  • Refurbishment of our final two science laboratories: Completing the modernisation of our science facilities, providing updated teaching spaces, equipment and resources to support practical learning and inspire the next generation of scientists.
  • Outdoor dining space: Creating a welcoming, purpose-designed outdoor area where pupils can eat, socialise and relax during break and lunchtime, improving the school environment and providing additional space for our growing school community.
  • Sustainable site improvements: Continuing to invest in projects that improve energy efficiency, reduce long-term running costs and ensure our facilities remain fit for the future.

Your Support Makes the Difference

Government funding alone cannot meet the costs of these important capital improvements. The 1666 Fund enables us to turn ambitious plans into lasting improvements for our pupils.

Help us invest in a more sustainable school and create an environment where every pupil can thrive.
