Inspiring ambition, developing skills and preparing pupils for the future through The 1666 Fund

At Sir Thomas Rich’s School, preparing pupils for life beyond school is central to our mission. Our Careers Programme continues to grow, providing opportunities for pupils to explore career pathways, connect with employers and universities, and develop the confidence to make informed decisions about their futures.

A highlight of the last academic year was our largest-ever Careers Fayre, bringing together more than 45 companies and 30 universities. Alongside this, pupils benefit from employer talks, alumni mentoring, apprenticeship guidance and practical workshops, helping them explore the many opportunities available beyond school.

The 1666 Fund plays an important role in helping us enhance these experiences and provide careers opportunities beyond those supported by core school funding.

How The 1666 Fund Supports Careers

  • Donations to the 1666 Fund help us develop and expand our Careers Programme by supporting:
  • Grofar Careers Platform: Funding our careers management platform, which enables pupils to explore career pathways, access opportunities and connect with employers, universities and work experience providers. Grofar also helps us coordinate careers activities and provide pupils with valuable resources to support their future choices.
  • Careers events and workshops: Helping deliver events such as our annual Careers Fayre, connecting pupils with employers, universities and training providers.
  • Employer engagement: Creating opportunities for pupils to meet industry professionals, explore different sectors and gain valuable insights into the world of work.
  • Alumni mentoring and connections: Bringing former pupils back to share their experiences, offer advice and inspire the next generation.
  • Careers guidance and resources: Supporting workshops, apprenticeship guidance, university applications and resources that help pupils make informed decisions about their futures.

Your Support Makes the Difference

Every donation to the 1666 Fund helps us provide careers opportunities that extend beyond core school funding.
